Thanks, so is FHD the best I can get? Thought I'd be able to get QHD?

Nothing changed, provided 2 separate Oneplus support staff logs, nothing new since.

If they can't solve this with a software update, I will root my phone. WideVine is the only reason that prevents me from rooting my phone. I don't want to send it in to repair for this stupid problem.

Same issue here, though I didn't exactly check when the phone arrived. Anyway, my OnePlus 8 Pro now rocks Widevine Level 3, which is pointless for streaming video. Didn't root or anything. I installed 10.5.5 with Oxygen Updater, that's my little sin [e]1f601[/e].

I hope OnePlus finds a way to get the phone to level 1 without sending it in. Because I'm not sure if I'm willing to do that. If I have to send it in, I'll probably leave it behind completely...

I was told by the OnePlus support that this might be related to OTA . They are still looking into it. No timeline given.

I only used the phone direct updates, which was pushed to the device, no updater tool, yet i have this issue too, so it's not the ota tool. or at least not exclusively.

I was told by the Oneplus staff that the bughunter team informed the developers about this issue and when they find out the solution, they'll get back to me. No timeline given.

It is weird that not all of the users who received the same OTA have this problem :(

Yes. Strange indeed. Not fully confirmed if it is indeed hardware issue for selective ones. Waiting for final confirmed from OnePlus on whether this can be fixed using software update or not.
As of now I submitted device log and in touch with support.
Will update in case in any further communication from OnePlus.

I did contact the support via the website, which routed me to the German support that told me "this is a Netflix issue, please contact them". After creating a screenshot via the App "DRM Info" I went back to them stating that that's simply not true.

Additionally, I provided the necessary logs and screenshots via the OnePlus Community app (a staff member on this forum kindly send me a PM asking for this as well), so let's hope this gives OnePlus some pointers.
