I've been using a Pro 2 for a couple years now and I love it. My co worker got a Surface 3 about 3 months ago when it came out and its also very nice. not as fast as the Pro series but it will handle just about anything

Apple sells refurbished MacBooks as well, which are made from working parts of other MacBooks that come in for repair. It looks brand new and comes with the same Apple Care Protection plan as a new MacBook, but at a very cheaper price tag. I would have gone for a refurbished one if it was an option for me(they don't sell refurbished in India or at least not till when I bought mine)

I just bought a laptop today from Bestbuy for school use. It was a Toshiba that was $470. I can't tell you if it's any good though cause they didn't have it in stock so they had to order one from another Bestbuy to deliver it to the store

Here's a nice Linux laptop if your cool with Linux (or want to try it out ;))
    https://system76.com/laptops/lemur

Clevo based laptops are pretty nice, here's a pretty well rounded one but its a bit above your budget at 892$USD (sure you could find similar at other vendors)

Honestly though Chromebooks are pretty sweet, I miss mine a lot... Just make sure it has 4gb of memory though or its gonna get painfully slow a fair bit of the time

Surface 3 is nice, but it is small at 10 inches. If you look for a full laptop replacement that nay be too small. Surface 3 pro is out of your budget. I would look at a dell XPS 13. Very nice machine and good battery. You may have to step up your budget slightly, but look out for educational discount deals...

Like choosing your own components, unless you want a pre-built model.

Nope, I haven't, from both Maxis and OP. I'm 47k on OP. I have relatives in US, they can ship it to me :) Or you can just use those forwarding couriers. Let me find them for you!

EDIT: Found it :) https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...malaysia-forwarder-and-sirim-included.143098/ I know it's archived, but I'm sure it'll be updated after OP2 is available more widely in US
