Just got the op 7t a few days ago. So far it's impressive but I notice it keeps going on to silent mode and I have to use the manual switch, turning it to silent and back to on to override the setting. So far it seems to happen at least once a day.

It means I'm missing messages and calls until I notice that it's gone into silent mode.

    Anyone else seen this behaviour?

So it happened again. It went, as far as I can tell, randomly into silent mode. I then had to use the physical slider, which was off to remove the silent mode by sliding it up to silent and back off again. I could not disable the function in software.

I have also been having this issue a lot, along with quite a few apps that have stopped loading properly, including the 1+ community app, any idea on why this would be? The phone is only about a month old

I was hoping someone would have worked out a solution but I wonder if it's the physical hardware of the slider at fault and not to do with software at all?

loads of comment re 1+7t going into silent mode but no solution suggested. Keeps happening to my phone and getting to stage where I will ask for refund. Has anyone got a solution. seems like problem around for years!

Same here. Very often phone would go into silent for at least few of the apps, until others "wake it up"

What is the bluetooth device you paired with your phone ? I mean each time you posted a screenshot to illustrate your issue, I see that bluetooth icon in the status bar. Maybe, it's related to your issue (I'm just guessing here).

Good suggestion. I have Bluetooth on all the time to connect to the car, headphones, etc. But when the silent, vibrate icon activates it's not linked to using any blue tooth device. For example, I've just had to use the slider for the second time today to turn off silent mode with nothing attached to Bluetooth...

I noticed the strange behaviour the day I migrated to the 7t from a OP6. That was Friday 24th January. I think it's a hardware issue with the slider?

The first thing I would do would be deny usage access to Digital Wellbeing, reboot, and see if the problem goes away. I've found that about 99.999 percent of problems with apps or ringers silencing themselves are triggered by Digital Wellbeing.

Good suggestion.... I'll give this a try... next time. Already sent the OP7t back to Amazon as I didn't want to spend any more time troubleshooting it when I still have a great OnePlus 6 I can use :)

Having the same issue on my OnePlus 8. Something is triggering the ringer volume to turn off while slider is in ring mode. If I slide to vibrate and back to ring it fixes. I just can't identify what is triggering it. I shut off the digital well being and plan on checking when my car connects via Bluetooth. If anyone has found a fix please post!

This is just pathetic. These issues exist from AT LEAST 2017, and have not been addressed since. They even exist in the newer models. I planned on buying a new oneplus, but I will not. If they don't want to listen to the community, I will choose a better alternative. The phones became too expensive anyway. Greetings from a use to be fan of oneplus.

Hi, an advice from non techy lady. I had the same problem with my OnePlus 8. It started when I bought new folding case from Amazon. Obviously not original OnePlus 8. What I realised that when I turn off the phone I pressed power button but because of way I hold the phone in my palm I hold the volume up button that made the phone to go into the silent mode. Sometimes I took the phone with closed lid in my hand and activated the same silent mode without realising it. The buttons are very sensitive. I've put my phone in the original case and paid special attention when I took my phone in my hands. Silent mode doesn't appear any more.

This definitely looks like the issue. Because while taking screenshots, is possible to press vol+ rather than vol- which could be the likely case where this issue happens. Any way to disable this power button+vol+ shortcut??
