Never had the problems with the touch screen, but really glad to see it's finally fixing the problem for the unlucky guys who had this.
I'm always updated to latest nightly, I obviously can't tell since I don't have the prob, but I did think my phone got a little more responsive, and sensitive. With my tempered glass protector, it had weakened a bit, but this made it better.

You don't have to flash that image. Just do a fastboot boot to boot to it one time, which will update the firmware, then restart.

I really think there has been 2 issues all along....a hardware one that some
unfortunate souls got stuck with, and a software problem that has been addressed
a few times, but never really resolved...I'm in the latter...and this new driver is a
big step forward...I'm very encouraged with the results

I have had touchscreen issues since I got the phone about 10 months ago. Always been stock and updated to newest ota when it came out. This phone is a joke! A touch screen phone without a functional touchscreen?! Currently on latest update, sometimes attempt to unlock my phone 7 8 times. Fail!

I have been using the new firmware since it came out and I have no touchscreen issues anymore. As soon as I installed the new nightly I could imedietly tell the difference as before I couldn't even type properly. Just swiping in the app drawer imedietly felt snappier.

A kernel is the "deepest" layer in the software, the kernel has direct access to the hardware..
I think you get it now :p

You didn't understand it really, didn't you? :D
As I said, the Kernel has direct access to the hardware, the screen of course is one part of the hardware.
If something is bad with the kernel (In this case here the firmware) and something ducks up, you will notice it because it might affect your hardware (The screen).

I'm bad at explaining things tho..

Funny this is out already but no official word from OnePlus.

I'm on Exodus and flashed Franco kernel today when I read about it earlier.

I'm not thrilled with Franco having a $5 app to make any adjustments.

I really believed I didn't have touch screen issues. I did though. Double tap to wake has always been more like 4, 6, or 8 taps for me.

My typing is way better now and my phone actually wakes up with two taps now.

    One big giant placebo effect?

that is the litmus test...always thought it was the feature that sucked...
the double tap to wake, turns out it was the digitizer software

ok, now I see...when I flash a kernel it's for several good reasons,
always after considerable reading, this time it's just to get the synaptics
driver....no idea what else that kernel does for me so I'll test it out
