Hi friends,
It's been three months since I last updated you on Orbit. Thank you guys for your patience and long-lasting support. Since then, the project team has come across lots of unexpected challenges. The changes in the organizational structure have a tremendous influence on the technical solution, forcing us to redesign the server from the ground up.
We are fully aware of how a Community website is essential for core users to create high-quality content. Therefore, the design of the new community website was also ongoing in the background at the same time.
After multiple rounds of design, product, and technical reviews, the final product plan of the new website was confirmed in February. Meanwhile, we also had some features added to the app. After months of discussion, development, and testing, we are thrilled to introduce you to the new Orbit app V1.5.0 and the new PC website Beta.
The new website will be available on PC only at this moment. Rest assured we will adapt the website to mobiles soon. I want to stress that this PC website is still an early Beta version, and you'll find that features will still be missing. Bugs are also to be expected. However, we want to give you access as early in the process as possible to have your feedback.
We have already a product schedule to improve both the App and website in the future, and we welcome your feedback to help us co-create a better community product.
The app update and website will be released on
March 31. Some features on the old Orbit app will be suspended on
March 29, including creating threads/comments/likes. For a better experience, please make sure you
update to the latest version right after the release.
