Newbies: Issues with Signatures & creating new Threads

I've had my share of permission issues when trying to add/edit signature or create new threads.
Thought I'd share a quick troubleshooting for them.

    Ok, First things first!
    1. You need to be at Level 2 (Doughnut) to have a signature.
    2. To create new threads, you need to have replied to atleast 5 threads first.
For details on levels: Levels on OnePlus Forum

If you have higher levels, u definitely should be able to edit/modify your signature and add new threads. If you still receive "Permission" errors, read below.

    1. Close the browser you are currently using and reopen a new page.
    2. Press Ctrl+Shift+Del combination (not Ctrl+Alt+Del) ;)
    3. Select all the options you'd see (varies by browser) and click on "Clear" or "Delete" (varies by browser) and wait till the cache is cleared.
    4. Close and re-open the browser, log into your OnePlus forum account and voila! You'd be able to edit/modify your signature and create new threads.

The issue is not caused by the forum backend server, it's a simple issue with cache and cookies on the browser.
Alternatively, you could simply try with another browser!
    Hope this helps & Cheers!

Hi. I've been having the issues with editing signatures and starting new threads. I've cleared all cokkies and cache from both my browsers (chrome and firefox) yet I'm still facing the same problems. Any ideas?

Try running CCleaner & see if that works for. This happens usually when a cookie is not cleared.

Running Firefox and the error is quite persistent. CTRL SHIFT DEL does not work every time.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have used CC but I don't want to have to run it each time I want to post or edit my posts.

I must be doing something wrong but I can't put my finger on it. I always have 20 or 30 tabs open in FF and usually leave the forum open. Sometimes I can post and other times I get the permissions error that effects starting threads, editing signatures and editing posts. No problem with replies.

While this may be a cookies related thing it is the OnePlus forum that misuses their own cookies. I've spent a good deal of time on web forums and never had this issue. There are many other users with the same issue, so can it really be blamed on my system?

The problem I guess is with the way the cookies are handled, when you have multiple pages open, each with a different session cookie, it creates a conflict with the forum server resulting in this issue.
Increasing the cookie timeout may or may not work as this is a conflict issue!

I will try the setting to delete the cookies when FF closes. Can't see too many other options although in the About:ff pages I am sure there are thousands of settings.
