NFC and Pokemon GO

I've just been reading about the new Pokemon game that's coming out in 2016 (see hear if you haven't). It seems like an amazing idea and I would love to get involved in it, but I was wondering would NFC be a feature of the title, as if so this would severely hinder my want for a OP2. This might be a stupid question, but I'm not 100% on the capabilities of NFC, only that it's a wireless data transfer mechanism. So do games sometimes use NFC, and if so would Pokemon GO be a candidate for one of these users? Thanks

I bet it will be Bluetooth. It would open up the possibilities to more devices

Highly unlikely it will use NFC, the range is too short and is usally used only to pair things. Pokemon GO will most likely be based on Niantic's location technology used in their other game Ingress, combined with Google Nearby and then using bluetooth for trading/battles/other close by stuff.
