night mode doesn't work on lock screen?

Whenever I lock my 7 pro and unlock it using fingerprint the night mode turns off and on again after I come to the home screen. This is very frustrating as it defeats the purpose of night mode.

    Is this normal behavior?

This is a normal function. Because the finger print reader needs to fire green light at your finger, the screen momentarily changes out of night mode and back again once unlocked.

    There is nothing wrong.

the fingerprint sensor might need the green, but can't the software localize it?

It would help if there was an option to deactivate the fingerprint sensor just for unlocking the device.

I think this is a very general Android feature now implemented by Google to prevent overlay on lockscreens due to security i believe. This is not something OxygenOS teams can easily change. This feature has started since before Android 10, apps like Twilight can no longer work on lockscreens as well.
