Network/Connectivity No 5G support for Rogers (Canada)

I'm beyond frustrated with the support this company offers. I've been trying to get 5G support on my phone for the last few days. Just as a qualifier I'm a huge nerd and love to tinker with my phone. I've rooted my phones, and added custom roms to my older devices. I've always been a big fan of Oneplus but then again I've never needed their support.
I've talked to Rogers and while their support wasn't great at least they took the time to try to help me. They confirmed I had a supported plan, they checked the sim card to confirm it would work, we reviewed the frequency and bands together and they went through the settings with me to try to confirm it was setup. At this point I was thinking I needed to RMA my phone. I did notice that when I went into Network Operators to select a carrier, no 5G shows up. Not Rogers, not Telus or Bell. I decided to talk to the customer support and they told me that right now the phone doesn't offer support for Rogers and that's an OTA update that would be coming. Here is my conversation with the "manager".
The forum would not let me post the text, sorry for the images.

Has anyone else had this problem or any suggestions? Perhaps someone smarter than me can point me in the right direction. I've been with Oneplus since the Oneplus One release and never had issues and this response is infuriating. I have no doubt Conor will not be escalating anything for me.

    1) Open Dialer App.
    2) Type *#*#4636#*#*
    3) Tap on Phone information
    4) Select NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA.
    5) You will now be able to use 5G.

Try toggling airplane mode once. Also reset apn settings once.

This ended up working after I followed steps. Absolutely insane you're paying for a flagship product and need to manually change this. The community is fantastic, so thank you for your help. If only their support and rollout was as good. Thanks again.

Awesome. Bad thing is you probably need to do it every time you update until official support for it comes.
Nag some on Oneplus support and hopefully it will be supported without such extra steps.

    Hi,
I am also trying 5g to work on my phone. I tried *#*#4646#*#*, then selected NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA. After that, I reset the APN config, toggled airplane. 5G still didn't work.
Can you please share what did you do to make it work.

This worked. Had to run this twice for it to work. Would recommend folks watch the French video all the way through. French isn't my native language but good to just watch the follow through since the process is kind of janky.

I was on the phone with 2x techs and they just kept saying 5G isn't supported on the LE2125 (North American OP9P) and was puzzled when I told him that 5G worked straight out of the box for my IN2020 (OnePlus 8 Pro).

    Either way, thanks community!

Ran a speed test in North York, Toronto, Canada. Barely noticeable differences but appreciate the fix nonetheless.

I tried both methods suggested and it doesn't seem to work right now. Max I could get is 4G+ here in Quebec City downtown where it should be available. I'm using a Oneplus 9 Pro North American Edition on 11.2.7.7.
I'm not sure if the problem come from Rogers or Oneplus (or both). At this point I just hope it would be fixed on both side as I suspect they have each their responsibility.

    Didn't work for me either.

I've had 5 OnePlus phones since the One, but with as much as I paid for the 9 Pro, this type of issue is unacceptable (not to mention several other annoyances). I've always recommended OnePlus phones, but I can't anymore, and I'll probably be looking elsewhere for my next phone.

Down on the same 4g+ and nothing above. Got the NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA and all, but no 5G... So frustrating

Just did the new c44 update. Still no dual sim or dsds enabled. I have the tray and two active sims but phone won't interpret both, just one of them.

    Just give us dsds 😭😭😭
