gravyplaya , via OnePlus 7 Pro , May 2, 2020 : I just got 10.5.6 and still NO DUAL SIM SUPPORT. I bought this upgrade from the 7 Pro just for the 5G. The fact that they released this phone without this basic phone function is more than disappointing. I can't even use the 8Pro because I need to be able to use both Sims. I'm ok with 5G only on one Sim, but this is really crazy. Guess this one will get returned if they don't fix it before I can't get a refund. View attachment 1297035 View attachment 1297034
1rrad1ate , via OnePlus 8 Pro , May 2, 2020 : Yeah I did not know this was going to be the case either and it kinda messes me up for work. Going to have to carry a second phone around until this gets updated but really disappointed that wasn't made more clear. I had read that dual 4G SIM operation was going to be supported out of the box and the update was for 5G/4G dual SIM support. I didn't have a problem with waiting for that. but this....
sweggitity , May 2, 2020 : WTF? what is this sorcery? They hike the price up and doesn't give Dual SIM support.
sweggitity , via OnePlus 5T Midnight Black , May 2, 2020 : it's like selling a sports car, but the tires will be shipped after 2 months [e]1f602[/e]
2pints , May 2, 2020 : My advice would be to return it now as soon as you are aware of an issue item received - dual sim phone does not function as a dual sim phone. Its all very well saying that a function that should be functioning out of the box will arrive with a software update, but sometimes promised software updates to fix an issue follow the well trodden route or sometime, maybe, perhaps, never
DJBensch , via OnePlus 8 , May 2, 2020 : I'm struggling to grasp how it acceptable for the product page for the OnePlus 8 to state the phone has dual SIM support, when it has been disabled in software pending a "future" update. especially when dual 4G SIMs are reported to work on EU models.
gravyplaya , via OnePlus 7 Pro , May 2, 2020 : Such a basic phone function that OnePlus failed to deliver. I'm returning mine because who knows how long that "future update" will take.
2pints , May 2, 2020 : Have you contacted one plus? For the cost of the device, it should perform as intended
SteveCP , via OnePlus 8 Pro , May 5, 2020 : I got my OP 8 pro today, updated to the latest firmware and both my Sims are supported, 5G isn't supported with both SIMs in, this is the case for all dual SIM phones at the moment I believe. EU version.
SteveCP , via OnePlus 8 Pro , May 5, 2020 : I'd agree, would have sent mine back and carried in with the 7pro if this was in the case in the UK
tpmurthy , May 10, 2020 : Dual sim is a very important feature for me. I have been using Oneplus 6T for the past year and a half. I got my new OnePlus 8 pro this week. I have requested an RMA already. I will buy it when they have the feature enabled and it works with Verizon.
shirokuro73 , via OnePlus 7 Pro , May 11, 2020 : I returned mine, with the main reason being this. US unlocked 8 pro. I made it very clear on the return that this was the reason. sorry, but a "promise" is not good enough at $1000. If and when I hear that they've added it, I may consider a repurchase, but to be honest my 7 pro is still a pretty amazing phone, I don't need the upgrade. They made the EU units dual SIM 4G, they made US units single SIM 5G. I don't know if it was a technical decision or a marketing decision due to different markets - and I don't care. The main function I buy OnePlus for is absent, and the website was not clear enough about it IMO (they may have improved the wording since, I don't know). Anyway, the only power I have over this is my money, and I'm waiting to get that back from OnePlus. Shame, it's a great phone in most other ways, but this type of compromise is unacceptable. Release the phone un-gimped or don't release it until you can.
