No Incoming SMS or MMS on Verizon

    I submitted my IMEI in the Verizon App, which now recognizes my phone as "ONEPLUS 6T". However, I might have messed up my SMSC number. Can someone kindly tell me yours? To find it, dial *#*#4636#*#*, open Phone Information, scroll down to SMSC, and hit Refresh.

    There's a difference between an iPhone sim and Android sim card on Verizon. You need your imei number entered in Verizon's data base. A DMD form needs to be filled out by a tier 2 tech. Then it'll take a couple days for them to manually enter. Opo and other manufacturers send out the imei numbers in batches to carriers. I think opo is a step behind which is causing a headache. This should of been straightened out before purchase.

    I'm also having this issue; going to call Verizon in the morning and hopefully sort this out. Setting up all of my 2 factor authentication apps has been... fun (including My Verizon).

    I'm not sure if this is related, but are any of you noticing that your phone isn't pulling voicemail information? Every other phone that I've plopped my SIM card into has automagically set this up. I think this is the first time in a few years where I've actually had to call the voicemail number.

    it's a very bizarre situation, so i called technical support and told them the issue i was having, they transferred me to to a tier 2 specialist. I told her the issue and this is what she said, she said that the device was not compatible with the network and i told her that's incorrect, the device is certified to work on verizon. I told her that the only way the device would work is if the CDMA-Less feature was turned on. She told me that isn't a feature you can just turn on because a few months back verizon retired all devices that run on CDMA making every device CDMA-Less. So idk what to do, im gonna call back tomorrow and see

    the difference is one has nfc and one doesn't, idk if it makes a difference with connectivity

    mine isnt recognized, i feel like when they add the device to there database it should automatically recognize what device it is.

    hey hopefully I can help you and all others. I placed my Verizon SIM in the SIM 1 Slot. after that I called *611 and the lady directed me to give my IMEI # for SIM 1 and my SIM Card #. she told me to power off the device and turn it back on and poof everything was in working order. give it a try.

    one last thing if it wasn't obvious since I didn't say but it's best to be on another Verizon phone preferably in your plan for best service and communication with the tech support.

    Scenario: If a user takes an ALREADY ACTIVE VERIZON SIM from his/her Phone and inserts it in the brand new OnePlus 6T then to ensure CDMA-Less feature is activated in their account please have user follow this instruction:

    For current VZ active customers:
    To activate/use an existing number on a new BYOD device, please ensure to log in to your account on www.verizonwireless.com> My Verizon > My Device > Activate or Switch Device and follow the instructions.

    If not working, please PM me about your device version (global version or TMO version) and device IMEI.

    I’m in the same boat. So you tried calling first and they said you weren’t authorized? Did your company rep need to actually make the change or just authorize you?

    I haven't spoken to our rep yet, since I work for a nonprofit we use a government account and I guess they are limiting in what you can or cannot do on the plan.

    I will be trying to activate a new SIM though and see if that works.

    I was wondering the same thing. Should I be expecting visual voicemail to be working on this phone though the stock phone app? I'm currently just given an option to call my voicemail phone number the old-school way.

    Yeah, rolled all of my 2FA stuff to my Google Voice number because of this, and for stuff that *has* to use the actual phone number (like Whatsapp and Signal), I put my SIM in my old phone to get the code... Luckily, I only talked to three people (mom, dad, and sister) through SMS, so I told them to just use Facebook Messenger. I think I've mitigated most of the issues I'll run into without SMS/MMS, but the 2FA stuff was the biggest pain to reroute. I'm on Xfinity Mobile, so the chances of getting this squared away with them anytime soon is pretty slim.
