I've been reading that many people, having paid off the phone, have been able to call and have TMobile unlock the phone right away instead of having to wait 40 days. call customer support and chances are you'll be set.

yeah, OP says 7-14 days, but most people I've seen get it within the first week. shouldn't be too long for ya. I'm still waiting on mine too.

do you have the xda link for this? If it won't brick or cause issues, I'll have incentive to pay off my phone.

SMH...i feel the need to be the voice of reason ..yes a few people have flashed 9.0.0.4 and 9.0.0.5 successfully on the tmo variant unlocked.. here's the thing it's not from the straight ota from OnePlus..it's a community provided full img rom..it involved flashing partitions in fastboot manually or through a bat file..now here's the disclaimer the current script being used to flash there imgs to the tmo variant are not flashing any critical partitions..this means things like or Bootloader are not being flashed..why is this important..well while things might work now.. not having something like a current Bootloader might prevent future roms from installing or booting due to version mismatches..as been said someone has already bricked due to flashing the ota only..I'd advise to hold off till devs and testers have figured out what exactly is and isn't being flashed properly.

100% agree . Anyone interested, just keep an eye on development. Wait for the kinks to be worked out.
Appreciate your warning. It needed to be said. Don't need anymore needless casualties.

If you brick the phone there is a way to unbrick it, no need to go have phone swapped.

I'll be more than happy to report here what happened to me when OnePlus puts out the next update. thanks for the warning, but as anyone knows who goes down this road, it implied. also when you get your code to unlock it warns you that if you download it that your warranty is void.

I was just reporting what I saw in the XDA thread . Guy flashed 9.0.5 ota on top of 9.0.4 and "bricked" his phone. I wasn't stating that everyone that "soft bricks" or "Hard bricks" their phones needs to run to T-Mobile to get a new one. I think the guy who "bricked" his phone may have overreacted a bit once he couldn't get adb or fastboot to recognize his phone. He was stuck in a continuous boot loop.

Either way, everyone here, just make sure you read thoroughly and feel confident in what you're doing before you start flashing anything .

Great! I got T-Mobile to network unlock mine after I threatened to turn off my digits line lol. Submitted a request to OnePlus for bootloader unlock, it's in process. so I can finially break it free from slow *** T-Mobile updates.
