    When did TMO start requiring a phone to be paid off prior to them allowing you to unlock it? I've had phones unlocked that weren't paid off. I remember doing it once when I went to Europe.

    they do temp unlocks whenever if you're in good standing but usually permanent requires you to actually own the phone and not have a balance owed

    It wasn't a temp, it was a full blown permanent unlock. Granted, this was several years ago, maybe they've changed.

    you can ask for temporary unlock 3-4 times in one year. By that time you can get permit unlock.

    if people are still confused bill in credited. You will get it even you paid it off.
