Good news. did a local upgrade (needed to use the full ROM not OTA file) and I'm now smoothy running 9.0.7

I'm not rooted. From what I've read around the internet I think I does work not 100% on that. Unfortunately we won't get the OTA updates but as they come out we just have to flash locally.

When you say flashing locally, you mean use the ADB method right? I get confused with browsing to the local storage location on the phone to find the ROM that you put in there beforehand in order to flash.

Once you download you have to move it to the root of your storage. Then go to System updates and install manually.

Cool, that's pretty simple, but I don't see this option to install manually, probably enabled after flashing, so how do you do it the first time? You went straight to the full 9.0.7 ROM from T-Mo's stock ROM? The steps before the flashing step are:

    Unlock the phone from T-Mobile
Request a bootloader unlock token from OnePlus
    Unlock your bootloader

    Is that all?

After you unlock the bootloader put it in fastboot and flash the file in the original post (all instructions there). then copy the full ROM to the root of your storage and flash.

after the flash, do you have available 2 SIMs or just 1?
because the difference between TMobile OP and OP Stock is the dual SIM.

To be honest , I couldn't get them to unlock mine either. No matter what I made up I kept getting pushed the 40 days nonsense. Ended up just paying someone to do it.

I can't get into fastboot mode on the phone? So the other option is the computer?
