If the leaks are true and the 8 as well as the 8pro both come with curved screens then I for one am going to be leaving OnePlus.

It is nothing but a gimmick it adds nothing to the phone but causes all these issues.

    1) next to impossible for good glass screen protectors

    2) blue/green tinge at curved part of display

    3) light reflections along curve unable to see content under it

    4) accidental touches

    5) display is way more fragile

    6) videos/picture/text looks distorted

The current curve on the pro is horrible I actually returned my pro for the regular 7 because of this very issue loved every other part of the phone.

A curve similar to the S10 series from Samsung would be usable but flat is the best.

it's literally a gimmick that adds a whole list of issues and solves nothing!

Couldn't agree more! Been a huge OnePlus fan ever since the 1+2 but I'm not liking the direction they're going for right now... And on top of everything you mentioned above, it makes the cost of manufacturing the phones higher..

I agree 1000%. But unfortunately that seems to be the trend with Chinese phone manufacturers right now. Have you seen how ridiculous the curved edges on mate 30 Pro look?

Text and pictures along the edge are distorted, but most of the issues you mention are actually false. And as for accidental touches, any screen with no bezel and no curve would have a greater chance of accidental touch.

No manufacturer is going to add bezels, no matter how much it prevents accidental touches. The curves help get the screen away from your hands. Be glad.
