NO Sound Equalizer for the OP7 Pro EU spec!

  1. LukaszRudnicki Eclair Jun 9, 2019

    LukaszRudnicki, Jun 9, 2019 :
    Dear Dev team,

please introduce the sound equalizer for the EU spec OP7 Pro. Currently this option is available on the outside markets and in EU we only get to pick from a few predefined sound profiles. Also could you please explain why you are limiting the phone's functionality in our region? EU users want to have the same (full) user experience as any other customer around the globe.

Attached please find a screenshot of the sound settings with and without the EQ functionality.

    Dear EU customers,

please support this thread if you agree. Together we can make a difference!

Hi, here in the UK, my OP7P also does not have the EQ and I simply don't understand why we are not getting it while others do!

There must be a valid reason for it, EU restrictions maybe?. Its more work to remove features, so its unlikely it would be removed for the hell of it.

No EQ in the UK either.

In addition, volume over Bluetooth is much lower compared to what I had on my previous phone (Huawei P30 Pro); is there any way to boost that??

Could it be the EU limits on volume output? It could be that OP is following the regulations, but Huawei was not, and that's why the output volume was higher on it.

Volume via USB-C goes more than loud enough.
    Bluetooth is rubbish, though.

not EU regs. a volume output is just peak, its not how it is mixed.

Can't speak for the EU model, but Bluetooth is louder than my prior S10+ in the US. EQ settings are at the default, did not feel the need to change anything.

The strange thing is that even eq built in Shuttle music app doesn't work. Sliders can be moved but no change in audio whatsoever.

Doesn't make any sense. They could resolve it in a different way.
They just choose the easiest way to do it, not considering the user benefit, only the legislation.

If it isn't because of the EU legislation, then I would like to see a clarification from some oneplus employee about why the EU users don't have this feature.

naaahhh, not likely. think about it, every other smartphone has an EQ.
(also smartphones that recently came out, and they all had an eq build in in the EU variant)

but it could be (but i don't think so)

Can't open a post so I have to get this one back up.

Do you have problems with low music volume too?
I'm from the EU and myOneplus 7 Pro isn't even half as loud as any other device I have ever owned. The missing Equalizer is ok for me because I can't even hear my music in crowded areas.

I'm using an USB-C to 3.5mm connector and some good wired headphones and the sound is just awefull.

is there any way to fix this problem? make the volume louder? Like a lot Louder?

I agree, I kinda felt the same but maybe because I like my music loud ;) I use this EQ that also a sound booster and works well https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.pinpong.equalizer

No apps solve this problem. Even the craziest sound booster I found did not bring the volume to a comparable level to other devices. And they just make the output sound louder, distorting it in a way. My Englisch is not the best..I can't explain it.

It's quiet and bad sound quality no matter what I do. My old Galaxy S8 has a better sound without Equalizer and on 50% volume. I think EU legislation plays a part but for some reasons I think it's just bad programming. Everything I do with wired headphones is with 100% volume.

and yet it's still so so quiet.

Thinking about returning it when I can't enjoy listening to music. and I do it a lot.

I don't want to buy something to get some decent audio quality. There must be a way without rooting to get some sound over my cable into my ears.

Everyones just saying yeah download an Equalizer and it's fine.

No it's not fine. It's still so low volume

From what I noticed, 7 pro doesn't have an equalizer at all. Since European model doesn't or North American one doesn't either. I may be wrong and the Indian one might have it but I think it's because they already have Dolby Atmos.
