Having no issue here. Did you check the Notification Settings in both WhatsApp and Phone Settings?

If you're on a beta then check the above post by @Dresa91 and update to latest beta version. If the update is not available on Play Store then download via apkmirror

Yes as I have mentioned, I've reinstalled whatsapp over 20 times within a day and I've even wiped my phone too

If you're using a beta then you'd be familiar with the buggy updates. This is not a OnePlus issue and the better place for feedback would be WhatsApp Play Store account, send a feedback to WhatsApp devs with logs attached.
Or just move to stable version as I can confirm the latest stable version has no such issue.

Beta version will always have some issues. Use stable only
