Not able to setup New SMS Feature ( AI Powered SMS ) on 7 pro. Nov 27, 2020 via OnePlus 7 Pro Nebula Blue

    After formatting my phone somehow I am not able to configure new SMS feature. Every time I enter my mobile number to verify it takes some roughly 15-20 minutes and gives an error saying "something went wrong kindly try again".

    Can anyone help me understand how can I configure this.

    This has come up a few times on multiple threads.

    This feature is region specific, so check it's available in your region first.
    If it is, then clear cache for the app and then try again, that seems to do the trick for everyone else

    Getting the same error in my 8pro. Tried clearing cache and storage and did a force stop multiple times but it still doesn't work even after trying for 2 consecutive days.
    I took my phone to the service center and they did the software update after which the whatsapp gif keyboard issue was fixed but now this has stopped working. Earlier this AI feature was working fine.
    Permanent fix is appreciated as I've gone through almost all the threads and information available in Google. I might have missed some so new suggestions are welcome.
