    hi,

I've been using a samsung 2a usb charger for nearly a year as I lost my oneplus 3 dash charger.

Will this have done any damage to my battery?

I am doing this too, as I don't have a dash charger. The device is cold while charging, I don't even get dash charging. Should there be any problems?

No, there should not be any problems. But, if possible try to use the stock charger.

Lol. Bottom line: you never use one of the best assets of your device. Not very smart as far as I know.

it won't do any damage to your battery, may be even better because you don't stretch the battery on charging.
but you don't get the full oneplus experience with fast charging

No, that's not true, it's about the wall plug not about the cable, I use a 2 meter 3rd party cable at work with the original dash wall plug and it reliable dash charges every time... Some cables may be incompatible though

check your phone if you get real dash charging logo and fast charging time, because the oneplus cable use the usb 3 added pins for dash charging, and most of the cables don't have it .

Dash charger is designed for OP devices. So if you lost then buy new one. And enjoy its Dash feature. I think its tasteless to use OP Dash supported devices without Dash Charge.

I fail to see how slow charging using an appropriate power output will affect the life of the battery compared to constantly fast charging it. Shouldn't slow charging at an appropriate power output actually prolong the battery life.

    Don't mislead.

It shouldn't harm the battery in any way, but you're not using all the capabilities of the device though...

never missed it though, phone always has 10-15% before bed, what's the point in dash charge if I charge it when I'm asleep?

looks like not using dash charge has prolonged my battery health then? sounds smart to me.

The thing is that you don't need longer to charge your phone. With dash charge in one hour the battery is full. My post was not meant to offend you. If it did, then I'm sorry.
