This topic has nothing to do with that phone and isn't even posted in that section.

If you browse the 7 series section you would see topics about updates posted in August as well as a beta topic.

Android 11 to old devices as compensation lol. Just be happy for them to fix 10 and be done with it. If 10 fully bricked your phone then you can ask for some sort of compensation but it din't.

I get the feeling OnePlus is now floating the idea of a problem with the update, so that in about 2 months they can say that they were unable to resolve the problem and will therefore stop supporting the 5/5T because they've reached the end of their support lifespan.
Basically, in their mind, getting away with not providing updates to the 5/5T for the last year (and not bringing android 10). Leaving 5/5T users with an unsecure phone (which is even buggy if running Android 10), installing a custom rom, or, their preferred option, buy another OnePlus phone.
I think the latter is really going to be an exception, for me personally, even if OnePlus still delivers a stable android 10 in the end (which I think is unlikely), I will not buy another OnePlus phone. They have proven to be unreliable and I will not reward that by buying another phone from them.

I've seen some people that they so appreciate OnePlus for providing support to such an old phone as the 5/5T, that is just ridiculous. A post in a forum, 4 months after releasing a very buggy update, is not called support. That is called stalling.

That's about the dumbest thing I ever heard. Here's my old 5T running Android 11, just to prove it.

You do realize that every is upgrade doesn't add a lot right? It's just changed.

Most custom roms have AOD, as far as hardware goes you don't need anything but a screen bud. Now for AOD that's worth having? Just need an AMOLED, which oneplus has had since the 3 I believe.

I don't see any delay in releasing new 0neplus Nord , 8T, new buds ,etc.

Seems they face issues in only fixing the bugs in 5/5T.

Not exited to see their new products or planning to buy one in future.

Just waiting for Apple iPhone 12 release to completely switch over from OnePlus.

I would suggest not to upgrade if you're not facing any issues. Since android 10 has multiple bugs in oneplus5

I'm not interested in Android 11, I prefer a stable version without errors as the final Android 10, especially that they fix the battery drain among other problems!
