    this is what their support told me when i asked if and when we can expect and update.


    Thank you for contacting to OnePlus support.

    As per the maintenance schedule, there will be 2 years of regular software updates from the release date of the phone, including new features, Android versions, Android security patches and bug fixes and an additional year of Android security patch updates every 2 months.

    Sorry about that but we can´t promise you an update anymore but let hope that there will be.

    They actually were saying ...NO - R&D... from now on for any of our phones
    No research n development of better software...
    Just bugs n bugs everywhere !!

    Guys, instead of complaining, I think the good solution is to switch to LineageOS.

    Because let's say OnePlus for some reason finally release a small update with a security fix bump. Fine. But it will likely still be the last one. Why wait for months just to get a final small bump and then nothing more?

    I guess I will switch to Lineage, still enjoy my phone 1 year with security updates and then will switch to another brand.
