notification dots are not coming Dec 11, 2018

hi , I'm not getting notification dots for messages and other apps , notification dots showing only for missed calls . im using OnePlus stock launcher v2.5.1 and Oreo 5.1.7. pls anyone give me the solution for this or I need to install other launchers to get the notification dots ?
