Sound Notification Sound but no notification

I am getting frequent notification sounds, but no notification. Occasionally I will get two or more notifications one after the other, but I can't figure out which app is notifying. This started after the most recent Android update.

    I've tried:
    - Changing the notification sound on a number of my most used apps (like Gmail, Facebook, Skype, etc) so that each has a unique sound. Still get the default notification sound.
    - Turning off NFC
    - Turning off notifications from apps which feel I need to know what they want, but I really don't
    - Ensuring running latest Android version

    Still to determine:
    - Might this be a full charge sound? Pretty sure it also happens when I'm not plugged in, but maybe it is the battery cycling to trickle charge or no charge, then charging back? If so, I can't find a sound setting for this.

I'd certainly appreciate any other ideas, or knowing if anyone is experiencing a similar problem.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm guessing you guys re on Oreo?

There's a feature wherein the phone beeps when there is a battery intensive app running in the background.

when you get the beep and there's no notification on the screen, check your battery stats, something must be hogging your battery.

You may have mistook this as a bug as well. or perhaps something else too.

Yes, I'm running Oreo (8.0.0). I also just confirmed that it isn't linked to 'full charge', as it notified when unplugged. This also confirmed that the sound is not linked to finding a network, as that also has a different sound. If this is a battery usage notification, how do I shut it up? Before the update, the notification would turn up in the Notification Bar, now nothing. I already have "Apps consuming battery" under "Android System" set to low priority, but it doesn't let me alter the sound to isolate it as the problem.

I "solved" by turning off notifications for everything, then only turning on selected apps. Trying one app at a time got too tedious.

    Hi to All,
Could you not set it so the notification dot is activated? This puts a dot on any app icon that gives a notification. It can be set at 'Settings/Apps and Notifications/Notifications/Advanced'; scroll down the screen and move the slider to set. This should at least give an indication as to what app is giving the notification. HTH.
    Mark.

    Hello OnePlus Team!

I am also facing the same problem. Super Frustrating Experience. What is the solution OnePlus team? how to rectify this issue in order to fix?

should I uninstall all apps and reinstall one by one?

Is there any way to see the log of notification on a system level?
