    i love my op5. but since the 4.5.3 oxygen os update it wont show me notifications for apps such as whatsapp and instagram. only if the app is open in background or i open the app myself do i see these messages being received.
    does anyone else has this problem?

    quite familiar with this, not observed in oneplus though .. u can do two things : firstly update to 4.5.5 and see ur facing same issue .. if it's still there then . do a flash/factory reset and update to 4.5.5 .. I think after this u should not have the problem .. if it still occurs then flash and keep it factory operated version till a specific version is released ..

    do check ur notification settings , check if any changes r done in it ..

    did you switch off notifications for these apps in settings?
    stopped background data for these apps?

    and i m facing the same problem...no whatsapp notification...no instagram notification....all stop until and unless i open apps.

    I am having issues with notifications too. But I want to change the setting so I don't get previews but still get an alert tone and an icon in the status bar like on my op1 but it doesn't seem to be an option.
