I'll give it a month until someone finds out that sensitive data from this app is sent to some other company in China or else. I don't trust Oneplus with any kind of data anymore after the discoveries in the past year.

Only app settings and saved data, not the app itself as far as I know.

well done OnePlus team, was really looking to a backup app that can do sms and app settings. is it possible to add an option for a cloud backup? and a password protect option?

So far this app is of no use (to me). The app doesnt do anything else than copying apks, pictures, text messages, calls and contacts. It does not restore any settings of the launcher, any wifi settings, no app data....

If you use google anyways, you are better doing app restore from google services which will also restore some app data or at least account data, especially with oreo....

After doing full backup and restoring with switch, I swiped my phone again and used Google restore instead...and yes...it is much better...Even my launcher settings with layouts and folders etc was fully restored...

You can copy the backup onto your pc...and copy it back to the phone for restore...BUT....its still useless...because it doesnt backup app settings, wifi settings, launcher settings.....I restored using google services and it was 10x more usful...

@OnePlus: Step in right direction, but right now of very limited use...

    Wooooooow, fantastic news.
Now, if it could be programmed to do it every day automatically, it would be already perfection!!! Congratulations for such a good job.

Helium is essentially adb backup, with a nicer front-end. It still has the same issues. I find it easier to just use adb directly, but it's not Titanium Backup. Including a backup app in the ROM image with root privileges and any needed SELinux authorization would address the issue.

    I have a problem.

I was on beta 22. I made a backup. then copied it to my PC. then installed a custom ROM. then installed OnePlus switch app. then copied the backup to the phone. then opened the app. now there is no option to restore files.
