Official SMS app stopped working completely Oct 13, 2020

    I just noticed that I can't open the official OnePlus SMS app, the one that you can't uninstall because it's the default one. When I try to open the app, it crashes.
    When I go to the Play Store, I see a message that the app is not compatible with my device.
    What the hell? It's a One Plus 8.

    Help please.

    Same problem. Tried to clear cache but without luck, still crashes.
    If I clear storage, will all history disappear (all old messages)?

    Backup with Oneplus Switch if you are worried about loosing it (should not disappear). Sms/mms storage is separated from the app. Settings will revert to standard though

    Hi, after doing the latest update for oxygen 8, I realised my text app (SMS) doesn't work no more. I can't open it and if I do it shuts itself automatically. Can you please solve this thing out 😭
