    Here are some pictures of my new Type-C Adapter. Fits snugly onto the Oneplus One USB cable.

    can i just ask what's the point in the adapter? is there actually a reason you need to get it or is it just for a second cable?

    The point of the adapter is that in our houses we still have only MicroUSB cables. With this you covered for 6 months until Type-C cabled gets in the market, until then with the adapter you do your work ;)

    Looks good, is handy, but I find that it is overpriced. I'm going to have to look for a cheaper alternative.

    If anyone knows of a good alternative, let me know.

    I just bought myself an extra USB typ-A to type-C cable on eBay so that I have an extra... (It's also hi-speed charging cable so it can push 2A+ to phone)

    Edit: attached screenshot of the cable I got on eBay:

    Yeah it is overpriced, I have two oneolus one cables to thought this would come in use more than another cable

    Thanks for sharing. Like @johnnyjungle I would prefer to get an adapter to work with the cables I already have. I have some good quality ones and wouldn't want to have them go to waste.

    Agreed. That's why I'm hoping to find an alternative adapter as opposed to buying more cables. If I can't find what looks like a decent adapter at a better price then I will likely get the Oneplus adapter when I order my phone.

    Are you happy with its quality? Any issues with it thus far?

    I just got an adapter on eBay - item ID 261994437214.

    £2.39 (but as yet untested - need an invite :))

    Thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for. Simple, basic, and cheap alternative.

    Obviously the Oneplus adapter looks nicer but given that the keychain holder doesn't really work, there is little benefit to paying a lot more for a basic function.

    Anyway, thanks again.
