Hey guys, coming from a Nexus 6p

So it seems as if I can't get "ok Google" to work if the phone is locked . Is this a Oxygen OS thing?

Samsung disables this as well which is annoying.

Try google launcher and see if that works, if not, you should be able to go into Google settings, voice, "OK Google"detection, Always on

I have the same problem. When the phone is locked even with the Google Launcher it still doesn't work. Lame

It didn't work for me either but I now wonder what if I would want to use Cortana or any other Assistant out there instead.
Is there some sort of config file, etc. to modify in Android so I can let any assistant listen? On the other hand maybe that would additionally drain the battery a little more when the phone is always in a "listen mode"?

As far as I know the only device the Google now command will work with like that are Nexus devices. No other device does that. Motorola devices will do that also but they use their own software to accomplish that. A different ROM may accomplish this but I'm not 100% on that.

"Ok Google" works on the lock screen.
You must activate always on "ok google".

I am also having issues with this. "Ok Google" detection from every screen is greyed out, it tells me the functionality is not available for this language.

It works for me, but the screen has to be on. But you have to activate it in Google settings and train your voice. It will ask you if you want to be able to unlock your device with voice recognition

You can add a second language like English to enable it then
Maybe English will have to be your primary one though, I'm not sure

Does it work RELIABLY with the screen oriented in landscape? In my car I keep it that way, I just want to be able to touch the power button to turn the screen on, and then be able to talk to my phone (use ok google to unlock option is enabled, and works in portrait mode).

Anybody else? Is this a google bug or oxygen os? Thanks!

This feature would require constant audio sampling and signal processing to be taking place 24/7. Even with special dedicated hardware for this, I would think it takes a non-negligible amount of power (taxes the battery).

I seemed to get it to work once, but my friends messed with it so I turned it off after 5 minutes

It only works with either the screen on or the phone plugged into the charger...

Nope, voice recognition unlock with screen off or simple OK google activation with screen off

Mine does not work at all lol. I did activate it in Google Settings but I am sitting here and shouting ok Google to my phone and everyone around me looks like I would be a total retard lol.

And by the way with screen of it only works for Nexus devices and for Samsung Note 4. No other Android will recognize it with screen turned off. (So it says in the help inside the Google App)

This is a bit disappointing. I had an lg g5 before getting my oneplus3t and it worked fine with the screen off. I wish they would add a way to do this.
