I don't use the on-screen buttons so I'm not exactly sure; hopefully someone'll be able to answer your question, though.

If I'm not mistaken, there's a setting in the Buttons tab in the main settings. You should be able to swap them, or at the very least, swap their actions while the buttons look the same (of course I could be wrong, I don't have the phone yet and I haven't used CM in a while :))

You are right... But unfortunately you can't edit the back button. I wanted a long press on the back button to open recent app switcher. 8(

You could try this app called softmodz or softmodz(I can't remember. The icon is red with a house in it). It let's you customize your soft keys in a ton of different ways. I can't verify thay it will work on the OPO(I am still waiting for an invite) but it is worth a shot.

You can rearrange buttons any way you want. When you open padlock to modify, simply press, hold and drag any button to any position.

When the onscreen buttons are on go to interface/buttons and layout. Click the lock to unlock and long press any button to switch the button order. Then click lock again when done.

I need your help. I did this, and switched the back and app switcher buttons around (so they were the same as the capacitive keys). But whenever I put the phone to sleep, they just reset! I see them switch back as soon as I wake the phone up :(

Do you know how to stop this? I've been looking everywhere with no luck.

I don't know. This might be a Cyanogen Mod Bug. You should try reporting it. I know that there is a stickied thread in one of categories, just find it and report it to cyanogen.

Make sure that after you're done with rearrangement of buttons press padlock icon to lock the settings.

If it's not possible directly, trying using another third party application. There are loads available on XDA for hardware remapping

I'm having this issue. Hopefully they'll solve it in the next update. Does anyone know when it's due or do they tend not to announce these things?
