Same issue here yesterday. Vol+ and Power button for a few seconds brought it back to life.

Whoa, man! Is this true? Like there's a lot of people dealing with defective OnePlus 7 Pro devices. If someone who's got some interest in buying this phone reads this, I don't think they will want to go ahead.

I just got my replacement today and it appears I'm in for smooth sailing from here on out. I think they must have rushed a bunch of product out the door trying to meet launch and quality suffered. The new one doesn't have any problems yet...

    How severe was your issue?
I got my 7 pro at launch and just today it happened for no apparent reason.

It was stuck in a bootloop out of the box basically if the battery was over 60%. If it got down to the 50% range it would stay on and only reboot occasionally. Definitely a lemon. I've only seen one other post with those type symptoms.

Which OnePlus 7 pro variant do you all have? I'm curious because I'm wondering if it's a specific model.

Same issue tonight, 12/256 version. Volume up + power long hold brought it back to life. But for how long??

Finally returned mine today. I’ll keep an eye on what is going on though. Maybe I’ll buy another one if they sort the problem out.

    Same happened to me.
    Version 8GB/256GB nebula blue.
Solution: press 5-10 seconds volume up + power button

My Oneplus 6T had the same problem in March. I didn't know the vol up + power button trick, so I sent back to Amazon and received a replacement unit.

Happened with my first OnePlus 7 pro grey device, power+ volume up revived the device. returned it as the device also had speaker echo & yellow tint on screen. Thought the sudden non starting issue was a random occurence on my phone alone.

Now on Nebula blue variant, has not had the sudden death issue so far, but had one random reboot for no evident reason.

i think its a Software Problem. no rma needed. if the Phone turns off just restart it with Volume up key and power. im sure they will fix it soon

just happened to me also, no Bluetooth devices connecting so tried a reboot to resolve. phone shut down but didn't come back up again. Vol+ and power got it back. hoping it's a software problem and will get an update. fist onplus I have had with a problem. had the 3 and 5t with no issues.

On my device, My password failed to work , so tried rebooting. But instead of rebooting phone went off. lt was revived with power & volume up. Later found games like asphalt 9 taking long time to load.
could it be corruption of storage?

oneplus must explain the issue, so users can be assured that it won't happen randomly again. Keeping silence on the issue won't be good for OnePlus.

My replacement 7 pro had one random reboot, but no sudden death so far (7 days of use).

All pwrbutton + vol up does is force the phone to restart, so the problem you might be facing is just a software freeze, hopefully this gets addressed soon.
