I've been on 10.0.1 on my OP7 for a good few weeks now and the issue hasn't come back yet. I've had my watch paired with Bluetooth since I upgraded, which is something that would normally cause the issue every few days. Still cautious (confidence knocked in OnePlus as a brand too) but happy the issue seems to have gone!

You are right! I was getting ready to pull the trigger on buying the phone but now I'm not sure if I want to risk it. I don't have tons of cash and have been saving for a new phone to replace my iPhone for a while now. I may just buy a Note 10 plus. Man, this sucks! I was looking forward to getting my one plus 7 pro! Ugh!!!

My OP7 Pro (12gb) started doing something similar. Mine is not new and is about 6 months old, so I'm guessing it's due to the new update. Out of nowhere the phone just won't turn on. The phone seems responsive, just the screen won't show anything. It will vibrate and it seems you can press things but you can't see what you're doing. A long press of the power button will restart it for me, no need for the volume button in my case.

It's weird and annoying. It has happened 3 times for me, I could not pinpoint the cause. I'm hoping a new update will come soon and fix this, really love the phone and wouldn't want to return it.

I had the same issue just today with OnePlus 7T.
The combo with Volum up + Power worked, but the battery was at 9% after 30 minutes of charging.
Last night before going to bed it was +60%.

I hope it is software and nod hardware problem.

I had this issue on Android Pie, seems to be fixed on Android 10. I've had no issues with unresponsive screen in about a month when I updated.

Thread seems to be slowing down, anyone else still having the occasional shut down like me? I've had a couple instances in the past week or so...
I still have not received the android 10 OTA.

You’ll better install Android 10 since this problem has been completely solved.

Is it "safe" to download and install prior to receiving the OTA? I thought I read that it was super buggy.
    Thanks.

I can’t imagine a bug bigger then spontaneous shut down.
In my case I haven’t seen any severe bug (I’m using beta 6) and yes, it’s safe to download and install without OTA.
