Just happened to me again after about 7 days of "uptime". Common Oneplus, fix this.

Same issue here for the first time after about a month of use with no problems. Phone was just under 40% charge and not being used when it happened. USA user, unlocked 12/256 Blue. Volume up + power worked after holding it down for about 10 seconds.

The best thing to do is to get the factory tool wipe the device and reflash the rom.
If the issue persists, it will be a hardware issue that is causing the device to crash.

Mine had done this twice today and I'm really not happy!
If this isn't fixed soon, mine is going back and I'm never buying another oneplus phone again.
Yes, I feel that strongly about this issue.

I found that pressing the volume up and power key to work ONLY without the charging cable plugged in. With the charging cable plugged in to the computer the key sequence wouldn't work to reboot and restore the phone. Immediately after gaining control of the phone after it just went dead I did a factory reset and hope that resolves the issue. i've had weird issues with ads popping up when using the camera for the last month or so, maybe that had something to do with it. OnePlus was totally no help, to return the phone their automated process insists on a IMIE number from the phone which you can't get if it's dead and chatting with support just gets a bunch of canned responses but little help. From this point on I figure there is no warranty to speak of with these phones and I won't buy another one

i talked to oneplus support and they suggested a cache wipe but that doesnt help.. so wat i did is that since my bootloader was already unlocked i flashed twrp recovery and cleaned my dalvik cache too.. i think this works as my phone has not bugged or lagged since 5-6 hours.. previously it was lagging after every 10-15 minutes of usage.. i dont recommend doing this.. but i suppose doing a factory reset shud help.. so backup your data and do a full factory reset

Everyone seems fine with just restarting the phone when it happens.
