Pixel is better but simply unaffordable for most. If you want to see how people feel about phones just look at second hand prices. Phones that keep high prices are phones that are loved.

It came out to be $1187 for me, with tax and the extra warranty they let you add. I probably won't be getting another phone any time soon, hopefully the Pixel 3 will suck. lol

At today's exchange rate, $1289 Canadian equates to just over $1033 US$.

Are you sure your figure doesn't include taxes or duties as the Pixel2 list prices are (in US dollars) $649 (64GB) and $749(128GB) while the Pixel2XL list price is $849(64GB) and $949(128GB). (Not to mention Google is throwing in a free "Home" device, which carries a $129(US) list price.)

Even the first Pixel was better than the OP5 in many aspects, like camera, display, water resistant and all of the goods that come with owning a Google phone like support. They improved last year's phone in those aspects, added a POLED edge to edge display and updated internal specs, so you do the math.. Still, OnePlus five is far away from being bad, one of the best phones of the year hands down, but nothing that really stands out when compared to the Pixel honestly.

Disclaimer: this is just my opinion.

PS: to me the phone doesn't look bad at all, not the sexiest phone out but neither is the OP5. At least it looks a bit more original and I think the colorways are cool, really Googlish.

Forgot to mention, the price is too damn high when you consider taxes, shipment etc, so I agree with most of you here. The fact is, you pay the costumer service, the research, the premium display and you even get a Google Home Mini if you pre-order the phone. Also, the squeeze feature is pretty dope imo, not the most useful but I like it a lot.

As far as pricing goes, it seem everybody wants to copy Apple, although labor costs in China, and the rest of Asia are rising rapidly. Don't forget OnePlus with the OP5, had a rather big (percentage) rise also.

In the case of Samsung and their Galaxy's, well I guess the're just trying to recover some of the 4 Billion($US) they loss because of problems with last years Note.

Well as it obviously depends on your personal taste and needs to me

    Same processor
    Less ram
    No headphone jack
    Fingerprint scanner on the back

    With that price, seriously?

    I'd rather take 2 Op5 than 1 Pixel2...

Supposedly the Google Pixel 2 series has some hardware issues surrounding battery quality. I'm on my 4th hour of being a OnePlus device owner (moved from IPhone) and I hope the battery on this device holds up to my demands from it haha. I've heard good things so I'm not too worried

Obviously, if one checks the Canadian vs. US exchange rate (today), there's a BIG dependency.

If you really want a Pixel........aha.....how far do you live from the US border?

A little over an hour from the border. Ive had every single Nexus upto the 6P. Im just not interested in the Pixel phones for some reason so I definitely wont be crossing the border to get one.

How have you heard heard hardware issues about the Pixel 2 when it hasn't even been released?
Also, I think it has the highest battery capacity among flagships.

One thing I will absolutely miss from OnePlus is the Dash Charging. It's a godsend.

Three years of software support is worth half the cost of the phone.

Not so different! GP2 is just expensive and enable to squeeze . For me, OP5 is better choice.

In what world are you? Price is the only thing OP5 has going for it over the Pixel

If you think that then you need to do research buddy. Same exact specs except for the resolution. Suggest you do some research before you decide to look even more stupid.
