Shutter speed and iso. You can find that info if you open the photo in the gallery and use the details option.

Both photos have the same shutter speed and ISO, so the light conditions were similar (this can be tricky to estimate by eye). And 1/50 should be enough for a handheld photo.

It looks like the old photo had more direct light to the object.

in the new one the front is sharper than your hand, so it seems that the camera focused a bit in front of the object. This may be a consistent problem, or it may be ocasional. I would try the camera for a while and see if this continues to happen regularly.

yes OnePlus 6 camera are good in specs but some software glitch I think that is why the pics aren't coming as expected and previous version phones clicked better pics.. so I think they should send an update soon..

i have never used a portrait mode on phone before, yeah I used to do this with DSLR.
Portrait mode on rear camera in good lighting conditions works well, in low light I found that there are some noise and unnatural bukeh effect, while front camera sometimes struggles in good lighting conditions. I hope this will be improved by software tricks....

I have tried with iPhone x and then posted here my friend.infact I am surprised to see rear portrait with OnePlus 6 is very good when compared to iPhone x but slow mo...not that good ...I have also compared selfie portrait with Nokia 7 plus and iPhone x ...and OnePlus has worst of them all.... what I meant by low light situation is when you try to take slow mo in house with artificial light..in night of course !
