The vast majority of the time, you're holding your phone or picking it up to hold it. Seems a screen scanner would be convenient for a lesser % of the time, hence, not worth it.
It's far more convenient to unlock the screen from the front when you're holding the phone.
It makes no sense at all to be fumbling around the back of the phone to find the fingerprint sensor.
Does anybody know if in display fingerprint scanners support banking apps and stuff like google pay? because then there must be an interface overlay of some sort
Funny. It's actually much easier with a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone. As I take my phone out of my pocket it is already unlocked before I even look at the screen. Your index finger naturally rests where the scanner is on the back of the phone
I am trying to understand how can you bring an hardware feature via updates..... do you even know how the indisply fingerprint scanner works ?????
Yes it will work..... it works of bouncing light off your fingers and registering your fingerprint on to the optical sensor below .....
must be KOMBOBULATION!
Yah!!! absolutely...I can't wait to see threads emerging out of nowhere asking for this feature via OTA that to SERIOUSLY.
Funny, I guess you need to accept that not all hands are made the same.
You will get it via OTA for the OnePlus 6T.
Yes they work just fine with a glass screen protector on.
You do realise that he was being sarcastic.
I think this is old news... Here's the 6T:
Just imagine a OnePlus logo on the back of it. That's all.
Users of OnePlus 6T will use their thumbs to unlock their phones now instead of using the index finger or other fingers on the fingerprint scanner at the back for most of the previous generation phones.
