Hey everyone I just noticed my one and half years old one plus 7 screen just comes off without any external pressure or damage.
I know it sounds crazy but guess what the touch screen is still working.
Does anyone have experienced similar issues or anyone know what's causing this.

Might be due to the battery swelling due to over charging

You sure it's the screen coming off or the preinstalled protector?

This really shouldn't be happening. If it is, then there is a massive fault with the phone

Battery swelling + damage to the plastic casing around the display can lead to this, tbh. Have seen the same on a OnePlus 3. Was a little shocked, but the user applied some tape and continued using the phone

If it's swelling, it's time for the phone to go to a repair centre ASAP. The battery is tested under rigorous and extreme conditions so shouldn't really be doing this tbh

I agree with you on that. I just mentioned that on extreme over charging over a period of a year or more, the battery can swell up big time. I was myself taken aback when I saw the level of swelling, but now I know not to overcharge my phone

No I haven't used any screen protectors for a while and I'm pretty sure I haven't done anything which leads to this kind of things.

I don't think so the plastic is damged because I haven't dropped it anywhere and also I don't think it's a good thing to happen for phone worth 38k and only 1.5 years old.

Nah I just wipe my phone with simple cloth and I haven't used any kind of chemicals for this purpose.

Seems like the glue has come off and the clips are damaged. Take it to service center and get it fixed.

Or, if the battery is not bulged, buy some double sided tape (transparent one) and stick the screen.

Just a matter of application of glue. Mostly will be done free of cost from OnePlus Service centre. I had similar issue in my older OnePlus 3, the screen came off after repeated use and removal of tempered glasses. Just took it to a local service centre (as my device was out of warranty and OnePlus Service centre was a bit far away from my home). They glued it free of cost, in no time. Was just a matter of a few minutes.
