One Plus Brand Screen protector

    si000n , Aug 11, 2014 :
I am apologizing now for length of this post as well as any and all grammar errors. So last week I posted a thread about how I scratched my One Plus One and how I was planing on getting a screen protector. As someone that has faith in the Company One Plus because the quality of their phone is so high with such a low cost I thought it would be best to buy the in house screen protector. I am sadly reporting it was awful. It is so bad I cant even use it.

Applying the screen protector started out pretty nice. You laid the protector on the phone without revealing the adhesive and line it up as best you can. You then take two stickers provided and use to hold it in place on one side like a book. You then move the protector out of the way and clean the screen. When clean you then reveal the adhesive and fold the protector back over. You then press it down and use the card provided to get rid of air bubbles. Now that all sounds easy and in theory it is. Sadly in practice its a nightmare. The stickers to hold it in place are crap they don't stick to very well. The plastic you have to pull to reveal the adhesive is too difficult to remove. Once you get it in place and comes time to remove the top plastic it is also hard to remove and so you end up pulling the protector up and creating air bubbles again and then dust gets in there and you have to try and remove that. After battling for 10 min the screen protector is worthless because the amount of dust on the adhesive has rendered it useless and the whole thing looks like crap.

I have now a $12(after shipping) screen protector that can no long be used. It is my understanding with reading the return policy that since I attempted to apply the protector I can not return it. So to those wondering about getting the One Plus Screen Protector just go with another brand until One Plus fixes theirs.

Okey. Unfortunately I have to agree with si000n. The OPO screen protector is awful. The posititioning tabs do not stick to the sandstone texture at all making it impossible to get the protector in place. However they do stick to the actual protector a bit too well. When I tried to remove them gently from the protector they left ugly sticky prints all over it... And finally when I tried to squeeze the bubbles with the squeegee card it only managed to scratch the protector...

So yeah... Can't recommend at all...

However, the OPO works great and I'm already loving it! So that's nice.

Can I also share my nightmare? No luck with their SP...

I finally got the phone today and I also order a screen protector cause I wanted to support OPO but then after trying to apply it slowly there's suddenly dirt and air bubbles that won't go away... I tried to clean it but no use. I tried and tried and just give up.

One big mistake I made was that I didn't realized there was a pre-installed screen protector on the screen already that stick to the model/serial and so I removed the whole thing and use the one I bought and then noticed it later on after it's already ruined. I was able to temporary reused it though until I buy a new protector... What hurts me was the price cause there's only 1 SP in the pack. ._.

I had the same issue about the stickers but used them as handles to get mine one without killing it. The other issue I had was tiny font used for the instructions. I needed a jewelers loop to read the thing!

Somebody suggested doing this in a steamy bathroom to clear the dust and it went fairly smoothly for us ... even peeling off the tempered glass one off once then re-applying.

Let me just say that I received my one and screen protector today. Immediately I applied the protector to minimize the chance of dust. I put it on, lined up the stickers they give you, peeled off first layer, made sure there were no bubbles then peeled off top layer. Best job I have ever done putting a protector on but I think because i peeled off packaging and immediately put on protector that the process was easier then I am use to. Still this is only temporary why i wait for my orzly tempered glass

I purchased the OP screen protector and I actually love it. However, I did not read the instructions and free hand it. I got a speck of dust under the screen protector and was able to lift it up and remove the speck of dust and then placed it back.

There were air bubbles under the screen protector and I even thought about purchasing another one since I screwed it up. But within several days, the air bubbles were gone and now I forget that I have a screen protector on my phone at all. Sorry to hear about your experience.

I am not sure he is aware that the protector is in between two removable pieces. He probably thought the top was the protector since you peel the back and stick it down first. Then you peel the top off and there is a protector left behind
