One Plus X Lacks Important Frequences in the USA

    veratoloz2005 , Oct 29, 2015 :
According to PC magazine, ATT and T-Mobile customers in the USA will experience major issues with reception, as bands 12 and 17 are not supported. Here is the quote:

"The OnePlus X may also have a critical problem for U.S. buyers. It has LTE bands 1/2/4/5/7/8. It's missing 12 and 17. That means while it's compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile, it's missing the low-frequency, 700MHz bands (Bands 12 and 17) that have the best suburban, rural, and in-building coverage. This means the OnePlus X will have significantly worse LTE coverage on AT&T and T-Mobile than competing phones."

First thing I looked for, thats a deal breaker for me even though I wouldn't switch from the OP2, but I can't recommend it to anyone either because of this.

Like the missing LTE Band 20 in OPO. Made it almost unusable in Germany.
Funny how that Company learns from failure.

Thank you for this. I was considering giving OP another chance. Looks like that will have to wait for a year.

As a T-Mobile user...this really, really, sucks. I wanted an updated OPO as a secondary phone, but this is just weak. First no NFC and now a blunder like this? Why? It's so simple on both fronts, so why are the small (but large) issues being overlooked by their engineering team?

Just found out. Also, I heard that LeTV is planning to bring its phones to the US by the end of this year. Their latest one Le 1S looks intriguing. If they keep the price here at less than $200 (in China, they sell it at a loss for an equivalent of $179), it will be "da bomb.":)

This was one of the first things I looked for in the specs. I'm still trying to get a better understanding of the significance of having Band 12. As a T-Mo user in Portland, OR who rarely leaves urban areas, do you guys still think this is a deal-breaker? Are speeds on Band 12 noticeably better than Band 4?

Better reception is the biggest thing. Although being that I never really leave NYC much its not that much of a deal breaker for me. When I had LTE active on my Nexus 4 as well as using the ZF2 I never had any LTE reception problems.
