Hey friends, I am thinking of buying the OnePlus One in a week or two..I have also registered for the OnePlus 2 invite system..however my position is so low that I dont think I'll get an invite anytime soon.
Hence i am thinking of buying the OnePlus One instead.
I however have a doubt regarding the One's longevity and whether OnePlus will continue to provide support for it. I certainly dont want to buy a phone which fades away into history within months of my purchasing it.
Please share your views regarding this :)

I have a OPO and it's a great phone that does everything I need it to do and still looks great. But if I didn't have it and was looking to buy a phone I'd go for the OPT which looks pretty good. I'm not going to get an OPT as I don't think it's worth upgrading to from the One but as I said, if you don't have a One better to get the Two.

I don't think the price will drop. It's already a killer price for what you get though.

OPO will remain a very solid phone for a while. Works flawlessly right now and I can't see that change over the next couple of years. Cyanogenmod appears solid, so that when support from Oneplus stops you should still be able to get good updates from Cyanogenmod nightlies. Annoying really since I need to rationalise a reason to dump my OPO for a OPT when available.

Did OP will continue to supply OP1 in near fututre or will focus entirely on OP2 inventory and just release their remaining OP1 sets to cleared off their stocks..and then no more OP1??

Maybe in India, but @Carl confirmed the price won't drop. Although since it hasn't dropped in India I could see it happen

I also was thinking of getting another OPO but I want to buy a bamboo style cover. They have been showing out of stock for weeks so they may be discontinued but I can not get a definitive answer from Oneplus. I do not want to buy a cover from a third party. The OPO is a great phone and I personally am not convinced the extras in the OPT are worth the extra, also the minuses are quite concerning to me such as no nfc.
