Ultrapixel = Double Pixel Size + Better In Low Light

it's not double in size than regular pixels, it's just 30% bigger than regular pixels and performs better in low light :)

A BIGGER sensor, at the most 10-12 megapixels would be superior to anything on the IMX sensors used by a majority of smartphones today. Crowding more sensors, on a pinhole sensor, introduces crosstalk (noise), which shows up in a lower light photo as sparkles.

Perhaps at that time HTC is using Ultrapixel version 1. Who knows?.
From the review I read on YouTube etc, it is actually have something better than the usual Megapixel.
My hope is to see more mature Ultrapixel. It takes time, however times is not always on your side (competition on smartphone world used to be in a period of more than one year, now the tensions getting higher and higher. It is like more capable smartphones are coming out in every 6 months).
    .
If only Ultrapixel has more time to grow and more focus resources :)

Ultrapixel = HTC named their sensor this way for marketing, because of the larger pixels on it. It is even trademarked.
Megapixel = well it's megapixel, ususally indicates the total number of pixels per the image taken

So comparing a concrete sensor to measurement has no point?

not a hype name, it's called UltraPixel for a reason which is it's 30% bigger in size than regular pixels that allows it to absorb more light in pixel to perform better in low light :)

But you forgot to say, that only for HTC devices :) It's not an official name for every sensor that has larger pixels.
