I think this had to be added. The real question is: "is it vulnerable like all fingerprint scanners previously"

I wonder if the sensor will be just as glitchy as the one on the iFail

hah .... NFC could be a necessity after android pay .. or may in future pay / app options ... but fingerprint scanner is no more than a flashy useless feature ... isnt it obvious ?

NFC missing sure makes fingerprint scanner less appealing to me. But what's even less appealing than that is the people who are cluttering every thread with requests for invites. Sheesh!

Yeah mate, please tell me all about how a near foolproof security feature that can't be hacked short of literally hacking off the owner's finger is more flashy and useless than a chip that lets me pay for things with my phone rather than all the usual ways like the other 99.9% of people on this planet.

Please don't tell me you think they only distribute this product in the tiny handful of countries where Android Pay is a viable option for the average consumer?
NFC payments are useful to a small fraction of the target market - added security is useful to everyone.

Good to have. Since NFC is not there mobile payments won't be controlled by FP scanner. So this is just another addition to secure data...

I really like this development. Great first post here, and am really looking forward to seeing the device tested out.

A fingerprint scanner as good as is mentioned above, is right up the top of my priority list. If the 3300 mAh battery lasts as long as I think it should (can't wait to see it user tested!), then this really is the phone for me!

I hope my #463,933rd place in the reservation line will mean I can get a OPT eventually!!

The fact that its not a button and cannot be pressed but you can tap it to reach the home screen, makes it unique. You can even customize what a double tap can do!

the fingerprint sensor was like the best spec the oneplus two can have. The flagship killer will truely destroy it's competitors and all the smartphones in the market!
hope for the best that i would get the invite asap

    You are in position

    12,067 / 483,711

    Awesome:D

Where is the data of the fingerprint captured? Directly on the phone?
