OnePlus 2 Resale Value = The Titanic

*I purchased the OnePlus 2 to review. I figured that if I liked it enough, it would become my daily driver. After writing my review, I decided that the OP2 just wasn't for me, so I decided to sell it. Which brings us to the resale value.*

Not gonna lie, I'm kind of shocked by the OnePlus 2's resale value. It just keeps on going down. You can pick up a brand new, shipped and unopened OnePlus 2, from Swappa.com for less than it costs to purchase the phone from OnePlus. I sold my OnePlus 2 last week for a measly $375, which is about a $60 loss after its all said and done, not good for a 2 week old, mint condition phone.

I am not advocating going and buying from Ebay or Swappa, I have no idea if the warranty travels with the phone. For such an "high demand" device, I more surprised how little demand there is for this phone in the US.

Say what you want about secondary markets, they still provide good metrics to use for actual demand and value.

I'm not sure I agree with that from what I've seen here in the states. The resale value seems to be quite low for an Apple device from what I've seen, but maybe it's just me......

Look at the prices of iPhone 4. They are still expensive. Compared to the competition, iPhones do have a better resale value.

What? I owned three iPhones and they are not better than the OPT! Say what you want.
Okay maybe the support is better.

Contrast that to the resale value of the OPO when it was invite-only. It was usually atleast 50 dollars more than the purchase price, even if it was used.

I think that too much bad buzz has been going around, turning people off from the OP2. OnePlus has become the company that everyone loves to hate.

This. 3 months after the OnePlus One was released, I sold a unopened OPO for over $100 profit.

Come on... What else can you expect when supply is starting to catch up with demand. How long were you expecting to be able to make 250 bucks on flipping the phone?

This is why I rejected my delivery rather than accept and try to sell it on ebay etc. Glad I did that now!

I needed the phone to do a review for my site, otherwise, I would have done the same thing. There is no money to be made.
