    dpang , Aug 7, 2016 :
I've had the oneplus 3 for less than a week now, but within the past 2 days I've been getting a lot of random reboots. Had 5 in the past hour for example. Tried clearing the cache in the recovery but that has not helped. Any advice would be appreciated.

this would be a rogue application playing up, id suggest clear cache data etc

maybe uninstall most recent app , as this maybe the problem

    lastly factory reset

Your motherboard is faulty then. Ask for replacement.

Just opened a support ticket then. But why would the restarts happen now? if the motherboard is faulty then why didn't the issues occur on day 1? I didn't drop or hit the phone once.

It may have only needed something slight to send it over the edge. It could've been fine the first few days but one slight short or bump could've messed it up.

Nothing to do with dropping the phone. Simply faulty hardware provably.

I had the same problem. After a week of use began to restart. After pulling the charger Dash. Phone no crash, and no damage. It did not help anything, even reinstall the system. Phone me OnePlus exchanged for a new one. Exchange lasted eight days.

    Faulty hardware
    Short circuit

After too much short circuit, motherboard failed.

RMA it or ask for refund and buy again because RMA takes long and there is a risk they may attempt to do something and reproduce issue but failing to do it resulting to ship back same unit to you.

Did u leave ur phone on anywhere out with high humidity? Any rain water drops etc?

    A restart means motherboard failure.

    Rma i heard takes from 3 - 7 weeks to receive a new&fixed phone.

    Good luck!

EDIT: Thats all just a guess, keep in mind!

Good point, I'll go for the refund then.

Definitely no, I take good care of my electronics and protected the phone like a baby. No way anything could've happened from my end.

Are you sure that your power-button wasn't pressed for 8-10 seconds? Because when you press it for some seconds, the OP3 will reboot.
