Sure, it's a great phone, specs-wise clearly in the same league as the other flagships from Samsung, LG, Xiaomi, ZUK, ... However, all of these also have at least 1 differentiating element which may or may not sway users in their favor.
However with what we know now of the OP3 I don't see that Unique Selling Proposition:
- Design: not ugly but certainly not unique, not compared to how "special" the sandstone etc. was before
- Build quality: metal is good, but again not unique
- Size/weight/thickness: all good, but...
- Screen: AMOLED is a great addition, but still only 1080P while others have moved up (for VR)
- CPU: top Snapdragon yes, LIKE everybody else
- Battery: 3000mAh "seems" like a step back, but depends on the power consumption too (AMOLED will surely help)
- Fast charging = handy, but nothing nobody hasn't done before
- 4Gb RAM = normal, 6Gb (rumored!) is great (although not very useful yet) but other Chinese OEM's also have it
- Onboard mem: 64Gb is more than enough for most, but still: no SD, no 128Gb like ZUK?
- NFC: finally, would be simply retarded if they did not include it this time
- Camera: no idea yet, but I doubt it will be better or even as good as the S7/G5?
- OS: COS is gone, OOS had many teething probs (hopefully solved by now). But it's just another (minimalistic) skin now, the updates aren't faster and the features aren't that unique. Luckily there is still a great modding scene, but not everybody wants to flash their own ROM of course.
- Price: very very competitive and important indeed, but even there other Chinese brands are getting closer and closer?
-> Guess we are purely left with brand loyalty and hype then...
Mind you, this is NOT a rant, quite an objective list in my opinion, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong
Also, it does not mean I won't buy it at all, just no "insta-buy": I will probably need clarifications/reviews on stuff like the camera quality and battery life before doing so (and after comparing with other brands/models)
