Wiping cache and disable adaptitive battery doesn't seems to solve the problem... Can OP please look at it. Is it possible to downgrade? There stable alternative ROMs?

I faced the same problems and came to following solution...it helped with my phone. The story is that
I read about the tesla logging problem and had an idea to check if the pone is logging too...and it does.

So i reduced logging to minimum and it runs much better:
This is of course all on your own risk...I had no problems till now.

Here is how you can do it:
Enable the developer options in the phone....

Unlock your OnePlus phone and go to Settings.
Under Settings, scroll down and open About Phone.
Find Build Number and tap 7 times on it.

    Then go to
    - Developer Options
    - Get logs
    - advanced
Here you can tap "clear cache"
and then in "save log type" disable all
and "Log Print Level" set to silent (mine was Verbose :-( )

After that I did a reboot and the phone felt much more responsive again.

    I hope this helps

I struggled for a few months with my oneplus 3t because of the lagging problem.

The only solution I managed to find was to open system -> recent app management -> deep clear and a restart.

The phone works perfectly, no more lag, fast fingerprint, etc.

    Hope it works for others!

    Yes, you are right.
I see it became a new trend now for the developer to insert glitch on old phone so the users will tend to buy their new phone (oneplus 7).
    Same thing happen to Apple.
For Oneplus, yes you guess it, i WILL NOT buy your new one and possibly jump on another better brand.

I do wonder why the phone manufacturer decided to raise logging levels to maximum at this point anyway? Did they do it for all phones and it only have symptoms for older phones? Why does the average user need logging at all, never mind maximum? What are OnePlus doing with all that logging data once they collect it? Why wouldn't it be in every phone users best interests to turn off all logging?

Anyway this fixed all my problems
