Yup you lost your data unfortunately. The encryption unsuccessful thing is because you tried to roll back to nougat without following the proper steps. It's a recoverable problem though check out the open beta thread.

sorry, which thread/message do you mean exactly? this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74955919&postcount=157 does not seem work for me, blu_spark twrp does not offer me an option to decrypt the data, all my files are still scrambled after rolling back to 4.5.15 via the official twrp.

Sorry wasn't trying to make it seem like there's a way to recover your data, that's gone as far as I know. I just meant you could get it to boot properly again if you followed the roll back steps in the beta thread.

I'm not so much interested in getting it to boot really, I'm mostly interested in getting my data back.. the guy in that xda-developers thread got his data after rolling back to 4.5.15 and flashing blu spark twrp, so I'm still holding the hope it can be done somehow, although the same steps did not seem to work for me.

    i have the same problem.

    I can sideload OnePlus5Oxygen_23_OTA_002_all_1712130703_5bf3132a9f2c4028.zip.
    but I cannot sideload OnePlus5Oxygen_23_OTA_019_all_1710311604_e278653ff79644a5.
failed at 47%, tried several times...
xfer: 1.00x, for the firsit zip that can be sideloaded it has xfer: 2.00x.

what is happening??? the first zip has the bootloop issue. the second one is 4.5.14, but i cannot sideload....

The common theme with this issue is an unlocked bootloader, regardless of whether you are using a stock recovery, twrp or are rooted. If you're reading this prior to updating don't update unless you re-lock your bootloader or you'll have just ruined your Xmas. So backup up all your data to a PC, re-lock, update. Yes that means a wipe, but that seems to be the safest/quickest method.

Yeah but a locked bootloader also limits your options if something does go wrong

I have an unlocked bootloader haven't tried any sort of sideloading method yet, is there a method I can try that would save my data?
