I notice it aI notice it around the edges of the pictures I've taken, especially the bottom right corner. Lenses were clean prior to taking them so it's not a smudge. This has improved a little with the past two updates. When I zoom in any amount it's very apparent the lack of detail in the picture.

I'm new to OP devices, so my ignorance might show, but I'm hoping for some additional improvement with future updates.

sorry but the camera is worse that a Nokia 3310. what's the point of over hyping it if the camera is not even up to scratch. there has been no updates for the camera yet which is disappointing.

It's an absence of an Optical Image Stabilisation, that can not be fixed via updates, a slight movement of hand and the image is smudged. I will come back when the 5T is ready with all the hardware fixes.

    I love RAM though!

I've noticed blurry images but all depends on what settings i use in pro mode because some say capturing and come out bad others take in stand pic and its fine but the normal auto adjust works fine for my liking so its all down to how its used in my experience and some time you have to tap screen to get it to focus but all phones do that every now and than

It's a software issue, the hardware is fine, oneplus needs to pull their big egos out of their *** and fix this shitty camera software.

It's not. At least not entirely. The lack of OIS deeply affects the quality of photos in low light conditions.

It's not only a software issue. The biggest fault is the absense of OIS. In low light the sensor needs more time to capture all the light it needs and just a small movement creates blur ( and this out of focus effect). Nevertheless i think this can be somewhat resolved with EIS improvements.

The OnePlus 5 wasn't trying to fake out of focus like it does in portrait mode was it? Is your phone set to save an untouched version along with the faked blur versions?

Very true, ois would help but my main complaint is how incredibly overprocessed the photos are, they look cartoonish.

I've seen some photos taken in raw and they look pretty good.

People that take pictures in RAW and do the post-processing themselves, usually know how to take great pictures.

You have great pictures taken with the OPO, OP2 and OP3/3T. OnePlus cameras always had good sensors. That was never the problem.

The photo on the postal card that apparently shipped with OP5 (at least with the review units) was taken by a forum user (@Hige, feel free to link us to your Instagram ;) ) with OP2.

OnePlus has failed (and apparently keeps failing) miserably as a point-and-shoot camera for people that just want good pictures without much work or thought. It keeps failing with video features. And instead of fixing those issues, they added new features that no one really asked for. The telephoto sensor's utility is incredibly limited. Even for zoom it only works on specific conditions and without EIS, it sucks at video.
