    Hello,

I manage to get 4G network with my OP5, but I notice that I get to Away network in the areas where my coworker have Home/4G with his Samsung.

Is there a way to get better signal, by changing network type. I try couple while in Away network (but should be home) and no luck to getting Home network.

    Please post your settings
Code for menu *#*#4636#*#* - Under Phone information

I'm struggling with this as well. 4G drops to 3G and doesn't go back. Switching to airplane mode on and off will go back to 4G for a little while.

Freedom just generally has very weak coverage. When I'm in downtown Toronto, very often I would have no signal when standing beside tall buildings. I'm seriously considering switching providers but 90 bucks a month is also hard to stomach.

So I did some testing and found the best option.

I had 4G complete drive from work to home.

    1. You need to make sure you have the correct LTE APN selected in mobile networks and LTE as preferred type.
    2. Go to dialer and type in this: *#*#4636#*#*
    3. Phone Information
    4. Set Preferred Network Type to: LTE/UMTS auto (PRL)
    5. Now click TURN OFF RADIO and wait WAIT few secs. will that button turns to Turn Radio ON
    6. Now TURN ON RADIO and wait
    7. when u see the triangle for the signal is back, at least black , go down and lick SMSC REFRESH then UPDATE.

restart phone (not necessary, but I did it anyway)

Network Type to: LTE/UMTS auto (PRL)
    On Speed test I got D: 29.45 U:18.33

    Stock comes Network Type: TD-SCDMA/CDMA/UMTS
On Speed test I got D: 24.93 U:15.67 but don't have 4G all the time
It was on 4G during test

So I took my wife's phone Sony Xperia XA1 that she got at Freedom store.
    I did comparison test .

Her settings is showing Network Type to: LTE/UMTS auto (PRL) as well.
Her phone is showing LTE sign, mine 4G not sure if even OP5 have LTE signal icon at all???

    Sony LTE
    D:55.22
    U:22.32

    OP5 4G

One more thing I notice my OP5 under Phone Info underneath my IMEI there is missing phone number
her phone do have her phone number.

Not sure how to get number in. I called Freedom Mobile technical department but they do not have a clue

How do you set Preferred type? I only have the option to choose between 2G/3G/4G or 2G/3G or 2G.

This issue sounds like a freedom mobile problem. I have contacted them and they can not give me a reason why it will not work. Their response is you need the ones that we sell. So it sounds like they are just blocking out every phone if its not sold by them.

From your screenshot, OP5 shows 4G.
It means you already get LTE service.
4G and LTE are the same things and some manufacturers just use different icons to indicate it.

    It seems that way.

I know that. I manage to force it. It is temporally, it switch back to 3G.
And if you see the comparison test same operator, same location... Sony have better speed.

I did flash 4.5.4, but it did not fix my issue :(
As per what I read there OP guys were contacting Vodafone guys, meaning they need to contact Freedom Mobile to get us up and running.
