I realize this is the wrong forum but I figured it will get lost in the 5T forum. 1+ says the 5T is Not Supported on Freedom. Doesn't it have the same radio as the 5? The 5 does work on Band 66 LTE now, correct?

Looking at gsm arena it shows still supports Band 66. And have additional 34 that 5 doesn't have...

I am still confused here guys...

About to order the OnePlus 5T (I live in GTA) for my kid..
    - will this work with Freedom (though, in their website, they still say not compatible)? or we still have to wait for some software update ?

Just curious...so finally is the situation that:
    - OnePlus 5 works with Freedom (due to recent software updates), but
    - the new OnePlus 5T does not (awating some software update of its own) ?

    Last Qs:

    1. Is the dash charger worth buying ?
    2. My kid is in high-school..does she qualify for student discount, or u have to be a university student ?

OxygenOS 4.5.14 definitely fixed OP5 so I expect 5T to work assuming it uses the same modem.

The Dash charger is the quickest charger I've ever used but I only need one. I guess it's worth getting if you think you need an extra one at work or something.

Thanks both @gillau and @Grolan for your questions and comments. This helps get a better understanding.

@dcrnic said that there are different frequencies available in the new 5T. That could be firmware or different modem.

How do we find out for sure?

As 5T just come out, best answer would come from OnePlus... So you would need to contact them, and ask.
Or wait for more people to get it and start complaining, or praying the new OP5T

    For OP5
I just hope that new Oreo will work with Freedom, not mess it up...

Edit*** i might have spoken too soon. it might of been the area i was in but later on that day i never fell off of 4g even when i got into the basement of my house, turned on wifi and such. ill keep testing to see how it goes.

use an app called LTE discovery. currently if you do get band 66, it shows up as band 3 with the correct frequencies.

Ok. I could not wait for Oreo update, so I went with Beta 4.

4G is working... But BT and Wifi are not... I reported to Bughunters...

Ok... It is safe to say... Oreo works with freedom 4G/LTE... I got WIFI and BT working as well...
Did not help cleaning cache in recovery (in my case TWRP), I went into system apps and manual deleted data and cache... Now working great...

The Oreo Beta OTA works fine with the LTE/4G. I'm also running some custom roms and they weren't having an issue either.

If you root phone with Magisk.. You can force it through Magisk modules.
Did Freedom mobile actually release VoLTE?
