Oneplus 5 after Flawlessly working for 1 year is getting Freeze intermittently. There is no response to any touch , although phones seems to be working fine in the background along with Fingerprint sensor.

Sometimes it gets resolve after a reboot or two but sometimes it gets in this stage for 2-3 days or unlimited no. of reboots. Sometimes after reboots it works for few minutes and after that again freezes. After it gets stable, works for a month or two flawlessly and then again the same issue. I have faced this situation 3-4 times in last 6 months after my warranty got void.

I am using stable version of oxygenos 8.1. Haven't ever flashed any kind of rom. Internal storage is more than 50% free.

I have tried rebooting, wiping out cache, factory reset but nothing seems to work.

I know warranty is for 1 year but a device should function properly for atleast 2-3 years.

    Service centre guy suggested
    1. Software Reinstallation // i dnt think it will work as after factory reset i faced the issue again

    2. Screen Replacement // i dnt think it will work either as after getting stable phones works fine for a month so is the screen.

Motherboard Replacement // i think this will resolve this issue but will affect my pocket alot.

Anyone can suggest any other way around.

Bro .... it is motherboard issue ... oneplus has supplied defected motherboard in huge no. of oneplus 5/5T model. If it is under warranty , replace it .... else it will cost 21-25k based on your model variant.
My warranty is expired and i can't pay 25k for a 38k device whose present market value is 12k... That too when defect is manufacturing defect from brand's end.... After explaining the problem , there response was very cold.
Too bad Oneplus, i trusted you !
